New Year – New Me… Maybe?

I’ve always kind of thought that New Years resolutions were a bit of a crock. Everyone has these big grand new year goals but then that all dies down either the morning after with the hangover or mi January when you realise that your goals are hard.

Fitness Goals

Well this year I’m one of those New Year Resolutioners that joined a gym. Ok technically I joined it six months ago, but I started going to it regularly. I’m smashing out my cardio 3 days a week, 2 yoga classes a week and some free weights sessions either on the cardio days or on the weekend.

I know I’m only 3 weeks in to the new year, but I’m setting my routine, I’m eating right and packing a lunch everyday (something I haven’t done since high school). I’ve been hitting it hard and so far I have lost exactly 0 kgs. But I feel better and weirdly enough I’ve had more than a couple of comments that I look better.

I have absolutely no flexibility whatsoever so I’m trialling the yoga and it seems to be helping in that way. Plus I hate stretching so if I’m directed to do it for an hour, then I may actually do it. However I can’t help but think during the classes ‘Yoga is effectively 43 ways in which to take a dick‘.

You might remember a story from a few months back where a guy got booted from house for commenting on my body Not a twink anymore, not yet a muscle queen.  But I’m not doing this to impress guys. I want to go swimming with my shirt off and I want my clothes to fit more comfortably.

I know this is a bit of a deviation from my usual smutty content, but we’ll resume your regularly scheduled content soon. I just wanted to post this somewhere to keep me accountable.

  1. Good on you! Fitness is for life not just for Jan and maybe Feb.
Easy ways to drop body fat. 1. If you have room get a skipping rope, gradually build up reps. HITT – heaps of options. Get out of bed 10mins earlier and do the ‘wake up’ program, you can find it on my pinterest. I lost 5kg in a few weeks without going to gym. In fact I have slowed things down because I was losing too much weight. Then you can move on to muscle.
Good luck and keep us up to date.
